The ASSET STEM Education Professional Development team recently partnered with Catalyst Connection to host an exciting Teacher Training. The session was free for educators and held in June at the Haas Factory Outlet.
The training aimed to give educators the skills needed to prepare students for careers in advanced manufacturing, autonomous vehicles, computer programming, and other emerging technologies in the Pittsburgh region.
The two-day workshop on project-based learning assisted teachers in developing the ability to design and facilitate effective project-based learning for their students. To do this, teachers examined project-based learning from the perspectives of both education and industry while collaborating with other teachers on implementing strategies.
Participants heard from experts at Eaton, Haas and Tesla and had the opportunity to tour the companies' facilities. Some educators even got the chance to test drive a Tesla!
