Back to school feels VERY different this year...
But it's here! In this newsletter we'll give you updates from our summer and ways that you can still support kids this year.
But first a note from our beloved Monique Jackson..
It’s never a goodbye, it’s a see you later.
You were created to do hard things, so rise and #getitdone; even during a pandemic.
When Covid19 hit our country, and our city back in March, we all knew things were going to look, feel, and sound different for a while. However, none of us could’ve ever imagined starting the 2020/2021 school year inside of our own homes, online, and without those glorious first day vibes, fluttering across thousands of school campuses, and in the hearts of millions of students and teachers. But here we are, there you are, and still we are together (online, that is)! In Spanish we say ¡juntos! Together! ¡juntos! Together!
Together we will rise to support, encourage, and mentor the many students whose future will forever be impacted by your presence (albeit virtual). One thing I am sure of is that ENP’s Literacy Mentors are ready for this task at hand. While “togetherness” is more important now than ever before, I am sad to announce that I will no longer be your Literacy Coordinator. It is with a heavy heart that I’ve had to step away due to a covid19 furlough. Which means it’s not a goodbye, it’s a see you later! Sending all my love to you as you “stay lit for Literacy” during our new educational normal.
With all my love,
Monique (Ms. Mo) Jackson
