Caloosahatchee Mindfulness

While summer's heat and humidity continue to hang on us like a wet blanket, our thoughts are beginning to turn. A new school year, a new season, perhaps we'll even choose a new pursuit or intention. We ask you to consider planning with us for the rest of our 2024 calendar. The information is in the calendar below. Caloosahatchee Mindfulness seeks to be responsive to our membership and provide offerings that help you in your practice. We value your thoughts.

Mindfulness Practice Opportunities

Mindfulness Book Club

Our small group studies and shares books on mindfulness practices to create a happier and healthier life. For information on joining the group by Zoom and the next book to be discussed, call or text (941) 888-0116 or email caloosahatcheemindfulness16@gmail.com

Our Wednesday Book Group has begun a new book: Real Life: The Journey From Isolation to Openness and Freedom by Sharon Salzberg.

No one is immune to the different seasons of life; yet, we are often ill-prepared to navigate these natural ups and downs with clarity and compassion. In her new book, Real Life, Sharon Salzberg contemplates the skills needed to traverse the larger cycles of life, drawing from 40+ years of experience in the Buddhist tradition. Applying contemplative tools, we can learn to live more fearlessly - moving from construction and isolation to a more spacious place of possibility, creativity, connection, and joy.

Discussion is focused on understanding how the author’s words and concepts

are relevant to our daily lives.

The book club is free to all Caloosahatchee Mindfulness members.

Friday Time Out

Every Friday morning and evening at 10:00 am and 5 pm, meditation sessions include a 20-minute meditation with initial guidance and then silent sitting. After the meditation, there is a group discussion, a 5-minute silent reflection, and then a thought for the week and check out. These meditations are offered at no cost and no experience is necessary.
