Workspace Bug Resolved

The HMIS Team has corrected the issue causing the window to swap from the "Case Management" workspace to the "My Caseworthy" workspace mid-task, which made the left pane unusable. If anyone continues experiencing this bug, please notify us so we can continue monitoring the issue.

Helpful Reminders!

There are so many aspects of using HMIS, that it can be hard to remember all of the tips and tricks you've learned since starting! That is why we've included some common questions and issues we receive from our users:

_______________________________________________________________________

"My client has two profiles!":

Forget to click "Check for Duplicates" when doing an intake, and now there's a brand new profile for an existing client? This is an easy fix! Our system will automatically merge duplicated profiles in the middle of the night, as long as the following demographics match on both:

  • Full name (make sure to check for spaces at the end!)
  • Date of birth
  • Social Security Number (must be FULL to allow merge)
  • Sharing settings (both profiles must be Shared)

If the demographics do not match, please verify the correct details, and change the incorrect profile under Client Details > Demographics. If the profiles still have not yet merged the following day, submit a ticket to the HMIS Team to further monitor.

"I haven't logged in in a while, why does HMIS say my account doesn't exist?":

HMIS accounts will be automatically deleted if they have not been logged into for 90 days. It may also be deleted if your annual Security Awareness Agreement has expired. To restore your account, send a ticket from the email associated with your account, and the HMIS Team will let you know the next steps needed to restore your access.

"My client's situation isn't listed!":

If you do not see a data entry option that you feel properly fits your client's situation, check the latest HMIS Data Standards Manual for in-depth explanations of each option. If you're still not sure which fits best. feel free ask the HMIS Team how to proceed!

"Other" should only be used as a last resort if the client's situation truly cannot even be loosely described by any of the available options. Any response of "Other" will not count in any HMIS-based reporting as a positive outcome.
