Hi Zach,

We can’t wait to welcome you to your new home in a few short weeks! Your residential community will be a core part of your experience here and we’d like to share some important information as you prepare for your arrival to campus for the very first time as a Demon Deacon.

We look forward to welcoming you to campus on August 23. If you are participating in a Pre-Orientation or other early arrival program, you should have received communications from our office with a confirmation of your early arrival date. That message also included instructions on when and where to check in. If you have not received confirmation of your early arrival, please reach out to our office at housing@wfu.edu as soon as possible.

CHECK-IN

As you prepare for move-in day, please note the following:

  • Before coming to campus, all students will check in at the Lawrence Joel Memorial Veterans Coliseum (LJVM, aka the Joel) at 2825 University Parkway, Winston Salem, NC 27105 no earlier than 15 minutes prior to their move-in time (see below).
  • In order to best manage traffic flow, we encourage new students, and those traveling with them, to enter campus via University Parkway or Reynolda Road.
  • As you plan, feel free to refer to the University's maps page.
  • Check-In will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. While move-in assistance will be unavailable, your RAs will be in community should you have any questions!
  • Students who are unable to meet these timeframes will need to fill out a late arrival form.

For more information, please visit our move-in information page.

PREPARING TO LIVE IN COMMUNITY

As you prepare to arrive to campus in the coming weeks, one of the most important topics to consider is how to best prepare to live in your new community. Check out yesterday’s message from Orientation, New Student, and Transition Programs for more advice on navigating the roommate relationship.

For more on expectations around living in community at Wake Forest, please take time to review the Guide to Community Living and the Student Handbook.

Should you have questions or concerns, we encourage you to first visit rlh.wfu.edu/incoming to see if we answer your questions there. If not, our office is available via phone at 336.758.5185 or email at housing@wfu.edu. Be sure to follow us @WFURLH on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook! See you soon, Deacs!
