FACE Receives $15,000 Grant from Grey Muzzle to Help Senior Dogs
|
We’re thrilled to announce that FACE is one of 100 animal welfare organizations chosen to receive a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization to help senior dogs. FACE will use these funds to help dogs 7 years or older with life-threatening illnesses or injuries get the medical care they need. We are grateful to have had Grey Muzzle's support since 2015! Last year, nearly 30% of FACE grantees were senior dogs.
Meet Fifi, a FACE Grey Muzzle Grantee
Fifi, a 16-year-old chihuahua mix, was attacked by a coyote hiding in the bushes during her morning potty break. She suffered severe bite wounds, requiring a costly surgery that was unaffordable for her owners, who were on a fixed income. Fortunately, they found FACE, and Fifi and family are full of love and joy again.

FACE Participates in Veterans Village of San Diego 2024 Stand Down
This month, FACE had a booth at the Veterans Village of San Diego National Stand Down, a vital 3-day encampment held each summer dedicated to helping homeless veterans and those at risk of homelessness. The event provides access to essential services that address barriers related to medical, legal, mental health, and substance use challenges. Everything from food and clothing to haircuts and pet services are made available.
FACE was honored to provide pet food and supplies, along with other resources to the veterans who were there with their furry companions.

"Feets" is Grateful for All the Love
But He's Has Had it With the Cone
| |
|
Many thanks to all those who have already chipped in to help us cover the cost of Feetson's (AKA Feets) treatment. His parents are beyond happy that Feets was able to get the emergency surgery he needed, and his recovery is going well. (OK, he's ready to ditch the cone, but otherwise, he's doing great.)
"From the bottom of our hearts we are very appreciative and grateful for the FACE Foundation. Thank you for giving us relief during such a hard time."
— Feetson's loving family

Ele Ele was a tiny, sick, stray when his mom found him, and she immediately fell in love. Sadly, he was diagnosed with a femoral luxation, which required a surgical procedure that she couldn't afford. Luckily she found FACE, and Ele Ele is now healthy, thriving and purring!
Lovable Marley developed a serious uterine infection that required emergency surgery, and his family was blindsided by the unexpected financial strain. Without help, they feared they may have to say goodbye to their beloved companion, but FACE came through to save the day!

Poor Tama swallowed an object that required immediate surgical intervention. With just one employed adult, the family couldn’t cover the cost, leaving them feeling powerless and heartbroken. Fortunately, with a grant from FACE, Tama is back to being her spirited young self.
Good Times at Dog Days of Summer
FACE had a booth at Cardiff Dog Days of Summer on July 21st. This event is one of the largest dog festivals in Southern California, and it didn't disappoint! People interacted with all kinds of dog-related vendors, rescue groups, pet adoption agencies and more. Visitors enjoyed live music, food & drinks, dog contests, and just being out on a beautiful summer day with their furry companions. It was a particularly happy day for us at the FACE booth, as we had a surprise visit from 15-year-old Luna (pictured top right), who was saved by FACE many years ago!
