judith3rd Annual MACTE Symposium
Keynote Speaker - Judith Eaton!

We welcome Dr. Judith S. Eaton, President of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, as the Keynote Speaker at the 3rd Annual MACTE Symposium. Also in attendance will be representatives from State Departments of Education to discuss their work in recognizing the credential from a MACTE accreditation program.

Dr. Judith S. Eaton is president of the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), the largest institutional higher education membership organization in the United States. A national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation, CHEA is an association of 3,000 degree-granting colleges and universities.

 

Prior to her work at CHEA, Dr. Eaton served as chancellor of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, where she was responsible for leadership and coordination of 32 institutions serving more than 162,000 students statewide. Previously, she was president of the Council for Aid to Education, Community College of Philadelphia and the Community College of Southern Nevada, and served as vice president of the American Council on Education. She also has held full- and part-time teaching positions at Columbia University, the University of Michigan and Wayne State University.

 

A sought-after speaker on higher education issues both in the United States and internationally, Dr. Eaton currently serves on a range of boards and has authored numerous books and articles on higher education and accreditation topics.

The 2014 3rd Annual MACTE Symposium will be held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Alexandria, Virginia. Full schedule of events will be announced soon!  The opening reception and presentation from MACTE's President, Dr. Rebecca Pelton will begin on Friday evening from          5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.  On-site registration will open Friday afternoon beginning at 2:00 P.M. 
 
In addition, don't forget to make your hotel reservations!  Follow the link below to MACTE's reservation page.  Once you put in the dates of your stay (December 5-7, 2014), the group discount will automatically be added.  Rooms are limited, so make your reservation soon!

It's that time again! The 2013-2014 MACTE Annual Report will be distributed electronically via Zarca on Friday August 29th. Each program will have until October 1, 2014 to complete and submit the Annual Report. If you have any questions regarding the report, please contact Cassie Bradshaw, Accreditation Associate, at [email protected]. If you do NOT receive an invitation from Zarca to access the report by 5:00PM EDT Friday, August 29th, please email Cassie.
