Dear Maria,

The Greenlight Family gathered last week for our annual staff picnic. We had tons of fun in the sun with a bean bag tournament, water balloon toss, and bonding over food and watercolor paintings. We loved showing our staff how much we appreciate the good work they do for children and adoptive parents throughout Illinois.

At Greenlight, we are celebrating Grandparent's Day on Sunday, September 10 with the Gift of Hope grandparent group. They are celebrating 20 years of providing support to grandfamilies. Please join me this year in honoring all grandparents, especially grandparents raising grandchildren. 

Lastly, please support Greenlight by attending Greenlight Gala 2023 on Thursday, October 12 at the Union League Club of Chicago. Greenlight Celebrates Grandparents Day

This Sunday is Grandparents Day! Generations United is hosting Grandparents Week (Sep 10-16), a free virtual conference and celebration for grandparents.

To launch the festivities, Greenlight will join Adrian Charniak, a GRAND Voice for Illinois, and her support group for grandparents raising grandchildren, Gift of Hope, this Sunday. We will screen The G Force a documentary by Pamela Sherrod Anderson which highlights several incredible grandfamilies.

Greenlight is thrilled to welcome Ashley deRamos-Stark, LSW, to the family!

Ashley has over six years of experience working with survivors of domestic violence by providing counseling, housing advocacy, and crisis intervention. She looks forward to partnering with local universities and counselors to continue and expand access to care for student survivors as Program Coordinator for Greenlight Counseling.
