Colombian firm launches U.S. operations in Westshore
Incofilt, a Colombia-based manufacturer of industrial filters, will begin its first U.S. operations as Delasierra Filters Technology. The company has signed a lease to operate out of co-working space Regus in Corporate Center One, located at 2202 N. Westshore Blvd.
Delasierra will start its operations with a team of commercial advisers and then plans to hire 10 support engineers in its first year. The company will initially invest $1.5 million.  MORE

Interstate 275 improvements approaching completion
Drivers in Westshore got some congestion relief ahead of schedule when the new third  lane of southbound I-275 to St. Petersburg opened on July 28 . One outcome of teleworking has been less traffic on the roads, and more time for construction crews to complete the $31 million project several months ahead of schedule.  A third northbound lane from the Howard Frankland Bridge at the Westshore Interchange will open later this month.  Please use caution in the area as work is continuing to resurface the new lanes. The lanes will improve merging movements for drivers entering and exiting the interstate. Visit FDOT's project site for more information, including road closures.
HART plans to restore transit service to Cypress Street
The HART board gave preliminary approval to a plan for system-wide service changes including two changes requested by the Westshore Alliance earlier this year - 1)  a new route on Cypress Street from Downtown Tampa to Westshore/Tampa Airport and 2) restoration of one-seat service from northwest Hillsborough to Westshore. The routes would operate on a 30-minute schedule. 

There are several other changes that impact the Westshore district including elimination of  275LX express route and reduction in some service schedules.  HART will be seeking public input before any service changes begin in January 2021. Visit GoHART.org for more information.
West Shore Blvd. plan coming into focus
The 30-year vision for West Shore Blvd. is moving forward with a more pedestrian friendly plan supported by wider sidewalks, narrowed travel lanes, and new landscaping. Consultants with RS&H and Westshore Alliance member Landis Evans + Partners are working with Hillsborough County staff to develop the plan and gather public input. Several typical cross sections have been shown to local property owners, property managers, residents, Westshore Alliance committees, and stakeholders. They are available here. These plans will be part of a public hearing later in 2020 to determine the best plan for West Shore Blvd. We will promote that hearing when it is scheduled.
