Alicia Saake, the Chief Operating Officer of Feeding San Diego, is featured in this month’s issue of San Diego Magazine. Sarah Pfledderer writes, "She might have swapped out her helmet and steel-toed boots for her own desk and COO nameplate, but Alicia Saake knows Feeding San Diego’s 42,000-square-foot warehouse as well as any of the nonprofit’s floor workers." Thank you, San Diego Magazine, for featuring Alicia as one of the 'Mothers, Millennials, and Mavens changing our city and the world'. We couldn't agree more.

We are grateful for the $150,000 grant we received from Starbucks to support our mobile pantry program. Over the next year, the funding will support the services Feeding San Diego offers to children and youth, families, and seniors at 66 direct service sites, including 40 school pantries, 16 rural mobile pantries, three direct senior sites, five community colleges, and two direct military pantries.

Feeding San Diego awarded $25,000 in grant funds to nine community partners serving seniors in San Diego County. This is part of Feeding San Diego’s Feeding Seniors initiative, which provides healthy meals to nearly 5,000 food-insecure seniors through strategic partnerships every week. Focused on improving the impact and reach of services offered to vulnerable seniors in our community, Feeding San Diego selected nine community partners to receive grant awards, of which Special Delivery was one.
