I just had to share my beautiful photo of Flathead cherries. The crop this year was stupendous! I don't think there are better cherries anywhere in the world!
August has been such a trying yet wonderful month. Sadly our forest fires have been numerous. As I write this, the rain is here and will help to put them out. As for real estate?
There have been 1,843 new residential listings that have come on the market in Flathead County in 2017 and a total of 1,029 sales. This means that 55.8 percent of the new listings that came on the market in 2017 have sold. If this pattern continues through 2017, it is likely that the percentage of new listing that sell will be in the 60 percent to 65 percent range, according to Kelley's Market Trends.

Classic French Toast

Ingredients:
6 extra-large eggs
1 1/2 cups half-and-half or cream
1 teaspoon grated orange zest
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 large loaf Ch
allah, French or brioche bread (use your stale bread, it works great)
Unsalted butter
Vegetable oil

To serve:
Spread a thin layer of Greek yogurt and top with fresh blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or bananas. Maybe sprinkle sliced almond on top of fruit and add some pure maple syrup.
This is a true treat for family and friends and top notch comfort food, too.
