Dear Forest Hills Family and Friends,
We have lots of exciting news to share and events coming up, so be sure to read through this newsletter to stay In The Know! Of particular note, scroll through to learn more about our Open House (Wednesday, August 7th) and our Annual Golf Tournament (Monday, September 9th).
Forest Hills and Forest Side are pleased to welcome a new social worker for Assisted Living, Tami May. Tami has a Masters degree in Social Work from University of Maryland School of Social Work and will work with assisted living residents and their families beginning on August 7th. Her work experiences include Adult Medical Day Program, the Jewish Foundation for Group Homes, and Berman Hebrew Academy. Please help me welcome Tami to the team!
Speaking of teams, our staff and their families were recently treated to a surprise when we received a block of 70 complimentary tickets to see the Washington Mystics basketball team. A huge thanks goes to the Hutchinson Design Group for acquiring the tickets through
the Washington Gas Company. The tickets were distributed to staff and their families in acknowledgement of their ongoing hard work.
In continuing the hard work we're known for around here, our new therapy providers will be sponsoring a Balance Clinic in September. Select Rehab will conduct screenings to identify balance problems and make recommendations to help prevent falls as the winter months approach. All residents are invited to this free clinic.
Again, don't forget to read on to learn more about our
upcoming special events as well as our monthly life enrichment programs.
Thank you, as always, to all of the family and friends we get to see visiting us at Forest Hills.
Hope to see you around,
Mary Savoy, RN, MS, LNHA
Executive Director and Administrator

Health Notice for DC Health Care Providers
Updates to Vector-borne Disease Screening and Reporting Guidelines
With warmer weather and changing humidity levels, mosquitoes and ticks will become more active and we approach our time of greatest risk for acquiring vector-borne diseases. Currently, the best way to prevent vector-born diseases is through the use of personal protection measures such as wearing protective clothing, using appropriate repellents and avoiding at-risk areas.
