Leadership Opportunity:
Impact100 DC Treasurer
| |
Are you interested in helping to shape the future of Impact100 DC? Do you have experience in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or economics?
Impact100 DC has an immediate opening for Treasurer. The Treasurer is responsible for maintaining records of all donations, preparing the organization's monthly budget and financial reports, annual income statement, and balance sheet, and submitting the required tax filings, legal and insurance forms. Training and support on our current practices and databases will be provided. The Board meets monthly, and meetings are generally via zoom. We hope you'll consider the opportunity to join a collaborative and collegial Board in setting policy and direction for the organization. No prior board experience necessary. Responsibilities may be split between two candidates if preferred. Anyone interested is welcome to reach out to to dhirschenbaum@impact100dc.org with questions or expressions of interest. And if you know anyone who fits the bill but is not yet a member of Impact100 DC, we'd love to hear from them too!

From their website:
Christ House opened in December 1985 as the first 24-hour residential medical facility for homeless persons in the United States. Today, Christ House is the largest facility of its kind in Washington, DC. Since our inception, we have had over 9,869 patient admissions.
Patients are admitted to Christ House from area hospitals, shelters, clinics, and medical outreach projects. They suffer from a variety of illnesses and injuries including cancer, hypertension and stroke, liver disease, kidney failure, diabetes and related amputations, HIV/AIDS, respiratory disease, major lacerations, fractures, and ulcerations of the skin. Many are malnourished, anemic, depressed, and desperately disconnected from healthy sources of support.
In 2023, Christ House provided health care for 208 patient admissions and 6,938 patient-days of care. The average length of stay was 29 days and 55% of patients had no income at time of admission.

We provide affordable, high-quality education and workforce development in the visual, digital, and performing arts. Each semester, 80% of students are from DC households at 60% or less of the area median income. Programs take place year-round during out-of-school time in Sitar’s state-of-the-art facilities.

From their website:
Greater DC Diaper Bank’s mission is to support vulnerable families in our region by collaborating with partners to distribute essential baby and hygiene products and expand access to critical services.
GDCDB is one of the largest diaper banks in the country, distributing 9 million diapers a year and hundreds of thousands of dollars’ worth of hygiene essentials and baby gear. Babies and families receive items wrapped in love and hope through our simple yet effective model: we receive donations in the form of goods, dollars and or time. The items that are donated to our warehouse are inventoried and sorted. Our partner organizations then pick them up and distribute to vulnerable families.

From their website:
The Joseph’s House community provides and coordinates holistic care for homeless adults living with HIV/AIDS and terminal cancer, supporting them on their life’s journey by honoring dignity, offering companionship, and promoting justice.
Since 1990 Joseph’s House has served DC’s most vulnerable residents, providing care, understanding, and kindness to those who have nowhere else to go. Joseph’s House was originally founded to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support for men dying of AIDS. As HIV diagnoses saw longer timelines for care, Joseph’s House expanded to provide care to all genders and began housing individuals experiencing homelessness with terminal cancer. We also provide transitional support for residents with HIV whose health improves while at Joseph’s House and ongoing support for former residents to help them maintain their health and well-being.

We empower the poorest DC youth with job readiness and advocacy training so they can move out of poverty.
