We Want to Hear from You!

Please fill out our online survey to provide the Orangeville Public Library Board with valuable feedback. Tell us what we're doing well and where we can improve. We also want to know your thoughts, ideas, and dreams for the future of Orangeville Public Library.

It should take about 15 – 20 minutes to complete. At the end of the survey, you will have an opportunity to enter a draw for an iPad Air. All responses are confidential. Please note that you should complete the survey in one session as your answers will not be saved if you go back at a later time.

Awesome Programs for all Ages

Awesome Human Library - August 3, 4 and 5

Join us for three evenings of pre-recorded one-on-one conversations starting at 7 p.m. There is an opportunity for you to speak with our Human Library guests after the presentation. Register for the Microsoft Teams link.

Tuesday, August 3: Library staff member Nicole Agar speaks with professional Drag Queen Devoit O'Virtue, who shares stories of how they got into the business and what Drag means to them.

Wednesday, August 4: Ann D. Lishous shares the process of applying make-up and costume along with discussion of the perils of cross-dressing in an intimate monologue, hosted by Library CEO Darla Fraser.

Thursday, August 5: Councillor Lisa Post chats with Dr. David Tilley, a gay family doctor who was on the front-line of treating HIV patients in Toronto in the early years.

Celebrate Your Awesome and Theatre Orangeville invite you to an Awesome Virtual Event on Saturday, August 7. The link will drop on the Celebrate Your Awesome Facebook page at 7 p.m.

Storytelling Series

Enjoy an in-person evening with local author & book coach Diane Bator, as she discusses her latest written works on Tuesday, August 24, 7 p.m. at the Mill Street Library.

Please register in advance to attend this in-person event as space is limited.

100% Certainty Book Club

It's time to register for the Thursday, September 2 (1:30 p.m.) Zoom book club. The feature title is “Bear Necessity" by James Gould-Bourn. A heartwarming and poignant debut novel about a father and son overcoming their grief in surprisingly inventive ways. Copies of the book are available.

Orange thREADs

Enjoy a virtual conversation about recent reads and all things fibre arts. Orange thREADs meets on Tuesday, August 17, 1 to 2:30 p.m.

Meets on the third Tuesday of every month.

Fun for Kids

Calling All Young Scientists

There are three more exciting Scientists in School interactive workshops in August for ages 4 to 12. Register to reserve your spot. Pick up a science kit in advance at Mill St. to conduct experiments at home as you follow along on Microsoft Teams.

Stories in the Park

Join us with our friends from EarlyON for Infant Time (babies) on Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m. in Village Green Park (48 Hewitt St.). Please register on a weekly basis.

Travelling Tales (6 and under) will highlight community helpers throughout August on Thursdays at 2:30 p.m. Meet with Fire Prevention Inspector Kelly Condon and Sparky the fire safety dog from Orangeville Fire at Harvey Curry (Everykids) Park.

Registration is required.

Family Fun Night at Rotary Park

The Library is partnering with the Town of Orangeville to present a Family Fun Night of live entertainment as part of the 2nd Annual Summer Concerts Series at Rotary Park.

The evening will feature a performance by Craig the Comedic Juggler and sing-along music with Team T & J. Tickets are $25 per vehicle and will include a $10 shopping and dining voucher for downtown Orangeville.

TD Summer Reading Club

There is still plenty of time to sign up for the TD Summer Reading Club! Read for a chance to win cool prizes.

It's easy for kids 12 and under to sign-up.

Double the fun by participating in virtual programs and events. Check the Events Calendar and join in on the fun.

Celebrate a summer of reading on Saturday, August 28 at 1 p.m. with a live virtual Crazy Concoctions show. Children will be awed as the Mad Scientist creates an extra hand to help with experiments and dazzled by colour changing demos. Register

Summer Reading Program Assistant Sara will also reveal the winners for the TD Summer Reading Club prizes! Don't forget to submit your tickets into the draws on Beanstack by end of day August 27 for a chance to win.

Join Tanis on Friday, August 6 at 4:30 p.m. for a virtual Teen Advisory Group (TAG) meeting.

Teen-led discussion of recent hot reads on Friday, August 13 at 4:30 p.m. This month will feature graphic novels.

Summer Reading Challenge

Track your summer reads on Beanstack for a chance to win great prizes! The more books you read, the greater your chances to win.

Now Open on Sunday

We look forward to seeing you at the Mill Street Library!

Our doors are open Monday to Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., for computer use and browsing the collection. A mask is required, and we ask that you limit your visit to 45 minutes. The curbside pick-up service continues to be available.
