SSKP Pantry in Madison Opens

On Saturday July 25th the SSKP Pantry in Madison officially opened!

Pantry Manager Paola Serrecchia, a team of volunteers, and other SSKP staff welcomed guests with offerings of fresh fruits and vegetables, bread, meat, and a variety of canned and packaged foods. The pantry will be open on Saturdays from 9:30 am - 11:00 am, and is generously hosted by the First Congregational Church of Madison at 26 Meeting House Lane in Madison.

This is SSKP's sixth food pantry, joining our weekly pantries located in Clinton, Old Saybrook, Westbrook, Old Lyme, and East Lyme. We are so grateful to all who worked so tirelessly and the many generous donors who supported SSKP so that we could open this new site!

Volunteers Needed

Food Bank Shoppers for the SSKP Pantry in East Lyme:

Volunteers are needed to shop at the Food Bank in New London on Thursdays 10am to 10:30am. Must be able to lift 35 lbs. Must be 18 years or older.

Madison Foundation Grant Supports New Pantry

SSKP is very thankful to have received a $5,000 grant from The Madison Foundation, funded in part by Ascend Bank, to support the opening of the new SSKP Pantry in Madison.

This generous funding was used towards the purchase of a new refrigerator/freezer that will help us provide fresh food for the pantry guests.

Westbrook Council of Beaches "Fills the Boat" for SSKP

This year’s “Fill the Boat” drive by the Westbrook Council of Beaches was record-breaking - collecting over 900 pounds of food and $18,000 in donations!

Every year this incredible effort brings the community together to help us provide food and fellowship. Since 2020 they have collected over $63,000 for SSKP.

We are incredibly grateful for the work of WCBA, their Alleviating Hunger Committee, and all who donated to this year’s successful drive!
