Latest News - August 2025

Dear Friends,

Thank you to everyone who has been donating extra non-perishable food as part of our "Join Me!" challenge. With anticipated decreases in donated food and increases in need we are asking supporters to purchase at least one item to donate each time one visits a grocery store. Most needed items include cereal, peanut butter, canned meat, and canned vegetables. Non-perishable donations can be delivered to pantries or dropped off in specially marked bins at grocery stores. Every single item makes a difference! Please help spread the word. Share this with your friends!

Thank you!

Upcoming Fall Campaigns

As summer draws to a close, we're busy planning for our major fall fundraising campaigns:

2025 Annual Appeal

First, in October, we will reach out to every household in our 11 towns with the 2025 Annual Appeal. This request for donations also serves as an important outreach and awareness campaign for those who may be experiencing food insecurity in our community.

And...

Beginning November 1st, we are excited to announce:

The 2025 Matching Challenge for SSKP

presented by

Lenny & Joe's Fish Tale and Carter Gowrie

We are so grateful to both these generous Lead Sponsors, who are joined by our six Partner Sponsors: Sound Rigging, Tower Laboratories, L. C. Doane Company, BrandTech Scientific, Essex Financial, and Risk Strategies.

If your company is interested in becoming a Partner Sponsor nd providing matching funds of $5,000 or more, contact Claire Bellerjeau, SSKP Development Director.

Together, these two campaigns raised over $330,000 for SSKP last year. We are grateful to all our donors who make our mission possible!

Westbrook Council of Beaches Supports SSKP

The Westbrook Council of Beaches food and fund drive for SSKP last month was a huge success, collecting much-needed food and over $14,000 in donations!

Many thanks to their Alleviating Hunger Committee and all the generous donors - we are very grateful!
