He praised the victim for reporting the incident to the police and also for de-escalating the situation at the scene. Mr. Elrich recognized that hate bias incidents are underreported by the Asian community and urged community members to report incidents. The police will investigate all reported cases. In Montgomery County, we are supporting this volunteer effort by asking our neighbors for hygiene kit donations. Hygiene kits for males, females, and children should include new socks, undershirts, underpants, and other basics. There are several other ways to help these efforts.
