ZOOM DUCK DERBY UPDATES

Thank you for making the 9th annual Zoom Duck Derby presented by Alluvial Wealth successful!

Because of your support, thousands of ducks were adopted and hundreds of tickets were sold, making a difference in the lives of people with disabilities in central Ohio and surrounding counties.

NATIONAL CHALLENGED CHAMPIONS AND HEROES AWARENESS DAY

Alpha is proud to support a number of programs that help integrate individuals with disabilities into the workforce. Each summer, we offer Job Exploring Counseling (JEC) for young people who may not not be quite ready for Summer Youth, but are certainly ready to start learning and gaining work experience.

Our Job Exploration Counseling program is a 9-day, no-pressure introduction to the world of work where they participate in hands-on tasks, worksite tours and build soft skills. This experience is all about gaining confidence in a supportive, low-stress setting, and it is so rewarding to see these individuals learn and thrive!

We express our sincere gratitude to Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities and the employers who make these opportunities possible. The photo above is from our last day of the JEC program with students engaging in a site tour with the City of Westerville.

ALPHA UPDATES

This special day was held on July 29. On social media, we highlighted our Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWE) to show our gratitude to the partners and employers who make this incredible learning experience possible.

Workforce Development is one of our core initiatives. Employers who partner with Alpha for the SYWE program graciously extend their time and provide mentorship to create meaningful job opportunities for individuals with disabilities. Members of the SYWE program grow their career experience and confidence!

The Delaware Integrated Adult Day Program had fun making zucchini bread in the silicone pans they bought from BINABLE.

Dublin Integrated Adult Day Program spent time browsing the selection at Half Price Books then cuddled with the pups at the pet store.
