Meet Little Love & Rex
in our August Spotlight
| |
|
Jacqui adopted her daughter from India in 2021, whom she refers to as Little Love on social media. Little Love was born with tetra-amelia syndrome which is a congenital syndrome resulting in the absence of all four limbs. Jacqui felt pulled to be Little Love’s mother and never let any of the obstacles associated with international adoption, Covid-19, or limb differences stop her from making that happen. Today, they are a loving and dynamic family unit that support and love one another.

Hello Everyone!
What is going on in your part of the world? For me, its currently full of time with my kids/family due to Summer break. It is hard to believe it is more than half way over and back to school life will begin soon. It's a break in some ways, and in others it feels even busier!
As ESFL continues to grow, I have some of those same experiences. We are serving more people with added staff, programs, and resources, and with more staff, we are able to add programs and resources. Our focus on providing meaningful connections and resources for you won't change!
I am always grateful for the people who join our webinars (now called Skills Exchange Sunday), who share their stories in our spotlights, who visit the website and share resources, and the people who give their time on the board, volunteering, and donating. We offer these connections and resources because of all of you!

Adaptive Golf Championship July 2024
Julie Dombo and Jennifer Griffin, who you may remember from SFL 6 met with pro adapted golfer Brandon Canesi and NBC reporter, Andy Stevenson in July at the 3rd US Adaptive Open Golf Championship. John Dombo, ESFL Board Member and frequent golfer at the host course in Kansas, first met Brandon at SFL 6 where he was a golf instructor. She connected again while he was in town competing at the Open event. She added a meetup with Andy, a commentator/reporter for NBC who is missing both arms. Make sure to check out Julie's interview with Andy.

Driving with Feet
We have several people in our community who do all of their daily tasks with their feet/toes, including driving. Driving can be scary for any new driver so this recording was meant to put new foot drivers at ease and share resources or tips that have worked for those foot drivers who may have more experience. Thanks to Ania, Jessica and Kayla for taking the time to have this discussion and record it so it can be shared with others.
