Happy back to school, everyone! Take a look at what's happening here at the theater.

Introducing our new puppeteer: Connor Asher!

As the Chicago Tribune once said, “Like many children, Connor Asher grew up enamored by puppets. Now as an adult, he’s still playing with puppets.” Connor was trained by Jim Henson Company and Muppet performers. Now, for over a decade, he’s been working hard to bring colorful stories and characters to life. He’s made hundreds of puppets of all shapes and sizes, with blinking eyes, flying wings, and more. Many of his performances have been original stories, with lots of thought, clever wit and humor, and educational elements. We could not be more thrilled to have Connor joining our team this fall!

Val West will be joining the theater this fall as a Community Engagement Assistant. Currently, she is working towards her undergraduate degree in English at Arizona State University. She has an eclectic skill set when it comes to writing, having published her poetry in journals such as Fifth Wheel Press, as well as two years’ experience in audio dramas and podcasts. With the goal of someday attending graduate school for Library Sciences, she hopes to work closely with the arts in any form possible, including publishing houses, libraries, and archives. Help Support our work with kids!

We are so proud of the work we do with our small staff of professional puppeteers and theater artists! Throughout the worst of the pandemic, we provided drive-in shows to families who needed a break out of the house to see live entertainment. While we are so happy to return indoors, we are still facing a large loss of income from limited school and childcare performances. Please consider supporting us today with a monthly donation of any amount. Every little bit helps!
