Dear Valle Lindo Families,
Welcome! On Thursday, August 20, we open the doors to the 2026-2027 school year, and we are so excited to welcome our New Temple Tigers and Shively Saints! Our theme this year is Reach New Heights Together, and it is a promise about who we are: when families, teachers, and students climb side by side, there is no limit to how far our children can go.
My commitments as your Superintendent remain constant: every student reaching their highest potential, and every child walking onto our campuses knowing they are seen, valued, and safe. This summer, that commitment took visible shape. Last spring we completed our Facility Master Plan, a long-range roadmap for modernizing our campuses, and we wasted no time beginning the first phase. Site improvements are underway across the district, including updates to our emergency response systems, renovated Transitional Kindergarten classrooms, and campus beautification, including the Shively patio mural. These projects are an important start, and there is much more ahead. The Master Plan identifies significant facility needs at both of our schools, and we remain committed to providing our students the very best learning environment possible, this year and for years to come.
Of course, buildings alone do not make a school. You do. In this packet, you will find everything your child needs to start the year strong: updated schedules, the dress code, student behavior and cell phone policies, and the Board-approved 2026-2027 district calendar. Reviewing these materials together at home helps set the tone for a confident, joyful beginning.
So let us begin the climb. Let us lead with kindness, listen with empathy, and meet every challenge with courage. I am honored to walk alongside you this year and cannot wait to celebrate every step forward as we reach new heights together.
With Gratitude,
Dr. Elizabeth Evans Superintendent
