Conservation Conversations with Maria Izzi
Meet Maria Izzi, a rising freshman set to attend Duke University this fall. As part of the DukeEngage pre-college program, Maria volunteered with NVCT this summer helping to improve the use, storage, and transfer of essential GIS data that is critical to our mission of protecting Northern Virginia’s lands and waters. We miss Maria already as she was an incredible asset to our team.
NVCT Receives Grant to Bring Equity and Inclusion to our Parks and Natural Areas
NVCT has launched an organization-wide effort to better serve all residents of Northern Virginia by including and inspiring diverse voices in our communities. We are incredibly grateful that the Virginia Environmental Endowment (VEE) was excited by our vision for equity and accessibility to outdoor spaces in the Northern Virginia region. See how their grant will support our work to serve traditionally underserved communities better as part of NVCT’s emerging Inclusion Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA) initiative.
Conservation Conversations with Ellie Modlin-Unger
Meet Ellie Modlin-Unger, a rising Arlington high school senior student who interned with NVCT this summer. If Ellie represents the next generation of environmental stewards in our area, we will be in great hands!
