A Night at the Ivoryton Playhouse: A Chorus Line (8/15)

On August 15th, Rockfall will host a Night at the Ivoryton Playhouse. Before the show, we'll host a reception with drinks and hors d'oeuvres. Then we'll watch A Chorus Line, an award-winning musical that explores a day in the life of 17 dancers in a Broadway musical.

Our reception starts at 6pm, the Performance at 7:30pm. Tickets cost $60. Register here.
Next Meet Your Greens: A Picnic at Smith Farm (8/16)
This month, we'll be touring Smith Farm, a farm offering meaningful work to people with developmental disabilities, and providing food to the Brian House group home and the local community. Farm Manager and Job Coach Sue Perrotti will show us around the farm and discuss with us the many facets of the farm operations--the CSA, the organic farming practices, the vocational training program, and more. Afterwards we'll have a picnic. Bring your own snacks and drinks. Rain or shine except in the case of torrential rains (then we'll postpone until August 23rd).

Also, save the date for upcoming Meet Your Greens: 9/20 and 10/18:
  • On September 20th, Jane Harris of the Middletown Garden Club will be discussing rooftop gardening on the Community Health Center's rooftop.
  • On October 18th, Judy Preston, the Long Island Sound Outreach Coordinator at Connecticut Sea Grant will be discussing the health and well-being of the Sound.

Meet our Grantees: CT League of Conservation Voters Education Fund
The Connecticut League of Conservation Voters Education Fund's CHISPA student intern, supported by a 2018 grant from the Rockfall Foundation, works on providing education to Middletown residents, including teens and their parents about the environment and how local residents can bring their concerns into the public forum.

This intern's efforts are focused on encouraging Middletown to adopt and implement the zero emissions school bus program, as well as assisting the community in developing its own environmental agenda, activating citizens to learn more as voters, and encouraging them to engage their lawmakers concerning environmental and conservation policies.
