VegMichigan is excited to have a recipe by Kim Korona, Program Manager, featured in the City of Ann Arbor's A²ZERO Community Cookbook, which will be available at the Local Food Festival on August 28 from 5pm-8pm! In addition to Kim's Not Too Hot Chili recipe, VegMichigan provided plant-based tips and guidelines throughout the cookbook, demonstrating ways to modify other recipes to make them plant-based. Our special guest speakers will be Dan Raichel and Lena Freij from the Pollinators and Pesticides team at the Natural Resources Defense Council. Dan and Lena will explain the science behind the threats posed by neonicotinoid pesticides, AKA “neonics,” to pollinators, biodiversity, and our own health, as well as neonics’ surprising prevalence in our environment— and our bodies.
