Our 2023 Summer Interns

August concludes our inaugural summer internship program during which we employed 10 rising college seniors and recent graduates across multiple specialties within Oldcastle APG.

During the 9-week program, they learned various ins-and-outs of our business, contributed to major projects, visited our facilities and participated in a fireside chat with Tim Ortman to gain advice for up-and-coming professionals.

We're proud of everything this talented group of individuals achieved during their brief time with us and we look forward to a bright futures ahead of this next generation.

Last month, 15 members of our Oldcastle APG Family were invited to participate in CRH Americas' 2023 UP Forum in Dallas, TX. The annual event hosts more than 100 emerging leaders across CRH who exhibit high potential for strong careers within our organization.

U.S. Senators Visit Barrette Outdoor Living

A Day Trip to Dover

Last month, we hosted U.S. Senator Tom Carper (D-DE) for a visit at our Barrette Outdoor Living facility in Dover, Delaware.

During the tour, Sen. Carper got hands-on experience with our sustainability practices when he volunteered to assist in our sorting and extrusion process.

A Tour in Tennessee

In August, U.S. Senator Bill Hagerty (R-TN) visited our Barrette Outdoor Living site in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.

During the visit, Sen. Hagerty and his team got an inside look at our largest BOL facility's operations and met with several members of the team.

During both visits, APG and BOL leaders met with the senators to discuss various areas of interest for our business and how we might work together to continue reinventing the way our world is built.

Belgard Reaches New Heights

Manhattan’s largest outdoor roof deck has been brought to life using Belgard's first-class products.

Located in the heart of New York City, this rooftop park tops an office building and offers its lucky tenants a private, peaceful escape from the city. To achieve its elevated look, this project uses a mix of materials including Belgard's Mirage pavers, decking, brick and greenery.

School is back in session, so our Superlite team in Glendale, AZ joined Operation Homefront to help donate school supplies and backpacks to nearly 230 military families.

Sprucing up the School Year

Earlier this summer, we joined our friends at Home Depot to help a local elementary school in Newport News, VA prepare for the upcoming school year with an outdoor renovation project.

In addition to donating four pallets of Cypress Mulch, volunteers from our amazing Mid-Atlantic retail team went above and beyond to install mulch, landscape play areas and clean the school's welcome sign, bringing tears of gratitude to some of the school's staff.
