Dear Friends of The CARE Center,

Happy August, everyone! We hope you’ve all had a great first month back to school. As summer winds down and we transition into fall, our high-quality after-school programs are kicking off, offering a safe and enriching environment for students to thrive.

If you have a passion for making a difference in the lives of young people, we’re still seeking responsible male mentors to join our elementary students during the school day and our after-school programs. These mentors are crucial in providing guidance and support to the youth in our community! If you’re interested, please see further details below.

This school year, we’re continuing our efforts to address food insecurity through our food pantry and our Bags of Blessings program, which is now accepting applications (see below details) to provide essential food support to qualifying families in need. 

Finally, we’re excited to welcome a few new Social Services interns this semester! We are looking forward to helping them learn and grow as they contribute to our mission. We ask for your prayers as we embark on this new season, hoping for blessings upon the school year for all students, staff, and families in our community. Thank you for being an essential part of our community, and for your ongoing support as we work together to create a brighter future for all.

Resources & Opportunities

It’s almost here…Get ready for our one-stop-shop college and career preparation event on September 7th! This will be an amazing opportunity for both parents and students to learn about employment, internships, and financial preparation for college - focused on empowerment and education. 

The event will provide excellent opportunities for local employers to meet the community and for you to learn about employment opportunities. Our various training sessions will also empower families to prepare for college alongside their students! 

“Don’t Fret Just Prep” will take place at The CARE Center’s Ministry Building (5414 Main Dr. in New Hope). Parents and students are encouraged to come and go as they please from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm.

We’re eagerly gearing up for the Gregg Berens Memorial Golf Fundraising Tournament on October 11th! This event will bring our community together in support of our mission while honoring the legacy of our dear friend Gregg. Whether you’re planning to play, sponsor, or volunteer, there are many ways to get involved, and we’d love to see you there.
