Center Point Maintains Certified PEO Status Under Strict IRS Requirements
(Union City, TN)- Center Point Business Solutions, LLC, a PEO firm based in Union City, TN, is proud to announce that they have been officially re-certified as a Certified Professional Employer Organization (CPEO). A program launched by the IRS in 2017 in response to the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014, Center Point is certified by the IRS as a provider of services in which an employer can outsource various tasks for employee management, such as payroll, employee benefits administration, workers' compensation, training and development, and recruitment.

Kim Watts, Chief Operating Officer of Center Point, says: "The initial certification process was intricate and time consuming with audit requirements, background checks on owners and key employees, and various other required disclosures. Despite that, Center Point felt that being distinguished as a CPEO was a significant step for us and for our industry. We believe that certification brings an added value to clients doing business with certified PEO's."

Multi-State Collaboration Aims To Bolster Four Rivers Region Economy

A new economic development collaboration of local leaders from the Four Rivers region wants to attract more businesses by working across state lines.

Officials from west Kentucky, northwest Tennessee, southeast Missouri and southern Illinois announced the creation of the  Mississippi and Ohio River Confluence Economic Alliance (MORCEA) at a press event Monday in Ballard County. Leaders want to advertise the region’s significant river commerce and other resources to potential businesses, believing that pitching the entire region's industry is more attractive than the resources any one county or city could offer.

Lindsay Frilling with the Obion County Tennessee Joint Economic Development Council said the new relationships and connections this initiative could build will help make sure business opportunities stay in the region.

"If I know I have a prospect that comes to me that I can't make fit in my community, I want to pass them along to somebody else in the region so that they have a chance at recruiting a business," Frilling said.

LOCAL LEADERS GRADUATE FROM WESTSTAR LEADERSHIP PROGRAM CLASS OF 2019
MARTIN, Tenn. – Skipper Bondurant, Jim Cheatham and Jamie Worrell, all of Obion County, graduated from the WestStar Leadership Program’s class of 2019 during the organization’s annual graduation ceremony and reception June 25 in Jackson.

Bondurant, administrator and chief executive officer of Baptist Memorial Hospital Union City, serves on the boards of the Northwest Tennessee Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Union City Industrial Development and the Tennessee Hospital Association Small and Rural Healthcare Constituency. He was also recognized in the Memphis Business Journal’s “Top 40 Under 40.” Bondurant is a Leadership Obion County graduate.

Cheatham, president of Universal Contractors, LLC, serves on the executive board of the West Tennessee Area 6 Council and the Southern Region board of the Boy Scouts of America. He is also a recipient of the Dyersburg/Dyer County Chamber of Commerce Emerging Leader Award, the President’s Volunteer Service Award and the National Distinguished Service Award by the Order of the Arrow, among other recognitions. Cheatham is a graduate of both the Leadership Obion County and Dyer County programs.

Worrell, human resource client manager at Center Point Business Solutions, LLC, serves as vice president and production producer for the Masquerade Theatre. Air Evac Lifeteam Memberships Provide Financial Peace of Mind
Attention, Obion County Chamber members! Do you know that your employees are eligible for discounted Air Evac Lifeteam memberships? Should you ever need to be flown by an AirMedCare Network participating provider, you will not have out-of-pocket expenses for the flight.

Thirty percent of Americans live in a rural area where the only solution to a time-sensitive injury or illness – trauma, stroke or cardiac event - is rapid transport to a higher level of emergency health care. Since 2010, 98 rural hospitals across the country have closed and studies suggest about 20% of rural hospitals are at risk of closure. Without access to emergency air medical services, people living in rural America will die more frequently from avoidable deaths.

Air Evac Lifeteam never requires membership to provide access to a higher level of emergency health care. A membership does, however, provide financial peace of mind. Air Evac Lifeteam is part of the AirMedCare Network – the nation’s largest air medical flight membership program. Your membership is good at more than 320 locations across 38 states.

As a member of the Obion County Chamber, your employees may purchase an Air Evac Lifeteam membership for just $65 per year. Multi-year memberships are also available.

For more information, please contact Rick Perry at 731.514.2568 OR rick.perry@airmedcarenetwork.com . I look forward to visiting with you about this great opportunity for your employees! Thank you!
