Greetings!

I cannot believe we’re already halfway through August! This summer has flown by, especially with so many exciting things happening at CURO. This note is a little longer than usual, but we have so many wonderful updates and exciting things happening that I wanted to share them all with you!

First, I am thrilled to welcome Caio (pronounced KAI-oh) Azevedo to the CURO Wealth Management team! Caio earned his undergraduate degree in Finance from Penn State’s Smeal College of Business — making all of our fellow Nittany Lions happy 😊 — and his MBA from the Wharton School. He brings more than a decade of experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, and private equity. Most recently, Caio worked in private equity, acquiring, growing, and selling small businesses. Having been involved in more than a dozen transactions from both sides of the table, he understands not only the complexities of diligence, negotiations, risk, and deal structure, but also the very personal side of selling a business you’ve spent years building. At CURO, Caio will use that experience to help business owners prepare for transitions and think thoughtfully about what comes next. He is also passionate about working with younger professionals and families, helping them make smart financial decisions earlier in life, and building a strong foundation for their future.

And on a personal note, Caio also happens to be my wonderful son-in-law — so I really know this guy! 😊 That makes welcoming him to our CURO family especially meaningful to me, and we are so excited about the experience, perspective, and energy Caio brings to CURO.

The CURO team is excited to volunteer again with United Way of Bucks County—this time at their newly opened building! By now, you should have received a separate email invitation to join us. If you’re able to come, we would love to have you. They can use all the helping hands they can get, and it’s always a wonderful opportunity to give back together! And, of course, we can make it a little social too—maybe grab some snacks or head to a happy hour afterward!

I was honored to be featured in the recent publication of Business Journal – take a look below and share with your family and friends.

And lastly, more often than not, I find myself having meaningful conversations with clients about what comes next after a long and successful career. For some, it’s about exploring a new passion or purpose; for others, it’s the concern that retirement may leave them feeling bored or unproductive. I recently read this interesting article that offers some very practical steps for exploring what your next chapter could look like, and I thought it was worth sharing.

With Gratitude,

Marianna, Melanie and Your Team at CURO

Strategies: Why You Might Need a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst

Agreements are signed and life moves forward. Years later, many women discover the settlement they accepted doesn't support their long-term needs. Check out what Marianna has to say in her article in the The Business Journals’ Bizwomen!

Need a new path in midlife?

There's a school for that and a quiz to kickstart it

It's never too late to change direction. This NPR article explores how "midlife wisdom schools" and similar programs help people in their 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond navigate life transitions by fostering purpose, community, and reflection. If you don't have time to read the full article, you can skip to MEA's "Pathfinder Quiz," which sorts participants into eight midlife archetypes, such as Seeker, Sage, or Impact-Maker. It may offer a helpful starting point for thinking about what's next, or simply understanding yourself a little better.

Insights From Our CIO:

Market Thoughts August 2026

Although underlying trends remained positive, higher oil prices continued to weigh on markets in July. The Nasdaq was the worst-performing U.S. index, while the S&P 500 and Dow Jones Industrial Average were flat for the month. Turning to the economy, the data was mixed, but strength in consumer spending and non-residential fixed investment is an encouraging sign that the economy is poised to continue growing in the second half of the year.

Will the situation in the Middle East and upcoming midterm elections cause volatility ahead?
