Board Update

“A woman is like a tea bag; you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.” -Eleanor Roosevelt

This quote reminds me of how strong our patients are when they are diagnosed with the unthinkable. Did you know that breast cancer is the most common invasive cancer diagnosed in women across every racial and ethnic group in Minnesota, and that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime?

There are numerous ways to make a difference, whether it is through your treasures, your time, your talent or your ties…or all four! Friends, you are the secret weapon for our patients in the fight for their lives. Thank you for supporting our mission. Please go to hopechest.com to learn more.

All women, especially Black and Ashkenazi Jewish women who are considered high risk, should have a breast cancer risk assessment by age 25 to determine if they need to start regular screening earlier than age 40, according to new guidelines from the American College of Radiology.
