Have a Barbecue On Us!
VegMichigan continues to spread the joy of plant-based eating through our food giveaways and plant-based parties. We have given away thousands of Beyond Burgers and other plant-based items to those who are new to plant-based eating. Our follow-up surveys show that most people are pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food is, and they are telling us that they will eat more plant-based meals in the future because of it. If you would like to host a barbecue with friends who are new to plant-based eating, we would be happy to supply the Beyond Burgers and side dishes. To find out more, please email [email protected]. Please support this great program by joining or renewing your membership.
At our most recent event, participants enjoyed Beyond Burgers on the grill and took home bags filled with plant-based milks, veggie stir fry, acai bowls, breakfast sausage, JUST Egg, and other plant-based items.
VegMichigan Opens Office to Expand Outreach Efforts
Through the generosity of a donor, VegMichigan has opened a 700 sq. ft. office that will allow us to expand our outreach efforts! The refrigerators and freezers were delivered this week, which we will use for our plant-based food giveaway, and our office furniture will be delivered soon. We will share more details and volunteer opportunities in next month's newsletter.

A Vegan GuIde to Detroit’s Eastern Market
While communities all across Michigan host farmers markets, especially in the summertime, Detroit’s Eastern Market features various year-round offerings. The Market, spanning well over 125 years, enjoys a rich legacy of community and culture. Originally home to wood and hay sales, the Eastern Market neighborhood has now blossomed into a Detroit hot spot featuring eateries, breweries, shops, nightlife, festivals, and of course the thrice-weekly market itself; all of which make the Eastern Market experience a draw for visitors and native Detroiters alike.

VegMichigan's In-Person Meetups Return
Thanks to everyone who came out for an evening of good food and conversation at Cosa Sabrosa! It was a perfect evening for the first in-person VegMichigan Meetup in more than a year. It was great seeing familiar faces and welcoming many first-timers. A big thanks to Jeff at Cosa Sabrosa for hosting us; we highly recommend giving them a try if you're in Ann Arbor. Stay tuned as we hope to get back to hosting our in-person Meetups on a regular basis.
