Lincoln Park Pickleball and Canyon View Tennis Community Meeting
On Tuesday, August 10 at 5:30 PM a community meeting will be held at the Lincoln Park Barn to discuss the proposed plan for the Lincoln Park pickleball courts and Canyon View tennis courts. Please take this short survey linked here to provide your input. The survey will close on August 9th at 12 PM.

Bonsai Zipline Community Meeting
Bonsai Design is working with the City of Grand Junction to construct a zip line from Eagle Rim Park in Orchard Mesa across the river to Las Colonias Park in lower downtown Grand Junction. A neighborhood meeting is scheduled for Monday, August 9 at 6 PM in the West Shelter at Eagle Rim Park to discuss locations and gather input for final location. All interested community members are welcome to attend!

Summer Camp Audit
Our Summer Camp program completed the audit process conducted by Mesa County Child Care Licensing. The program passed the audit with flying colors! An average of 300 kids attend Summer Camp at seven different sites each day. The team is now focusing on the last few weeks before school starts.
Las Colonias Earns National Award
Las Colonias has earned the Site Reuse Award from the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA). That US EPA was only given to four communities nationwide.
Threats to Urban Tree Canopy
Increasing pressure from insects and drought is causing severe stress on our tree canopy. To combat these threats, the city is taking proactive steps to mitigate the harm to this vital asset.
Right-of-Way Improvements
The parks team is in the midst of implementing an updated maintenance plan for all City right-of-way areas. The plan aims to remediate issues concerning tree health, plant health, and weed management. The work groups are also auditing these areas for irrigation, repairs, dead shrubs, and identifying landscape aspects that need to be replaced.
