August 2017 Newsletter
A Note from the Executive Director
Welcome back to the 2017-18 school year! As SBHC sponsors and provider teams busily launch their clinics, we at NMASBHC are working hard on multiple projects to provide support. Our Board and staff are engaging in planning and implementation of new and annual initiatives to improve healthcare for New Mexico's kids. We hope you will work with us on a few of those including:
  • An SBHC directory update and survey form has gone out to every SBHC in our state; as you receive yours, please complete and return so that we can serve the field most effectively. Your update will allow us to update our online and print directories (the only ones in the state!). See link below for a flyer with information about how you can get a gift card for the timely submission of these documents.
  • Start taking pictures of your team and youth groups - we'll be launching our second annual photograph contest at the end of September for inclusion in our 2018 calendar (only the second ever).
And as we pause for Labor Day, let's take a moment to think about the many children and families that have been effected by tragedy in the last month. From the violence in Charlottesville to the tragic disaster in Houston and the very recent shooting in Clovis, families near and far need support more than ever. Read on for a few resources to support children in the face of tragedy.
Sending best wishes for strength in the new school year,
