Staying Safe:
COVID-19 Safety Procedures in the Library
The RHEC Library has taken several steps to ensure the safety of our staff and patrons during this pandemic. We would like to share these precautions with our readers so you may be prepared during your next visit.
Social Distancing
The library has temporarily reduced the number of computer stations available to patrons in order to ensure enough distance between users. A plexiglass barrier has also been installed at the circulation desk to minimize contact between staff and patrons.
Personal and Equipment Sanitation
Hand sanitizer is readily available for patron-use, as well as extra disposable face masks if needed. All patrons are required to wear a face mask the entire time while in the library. Equipment like computer keyboards, mice, the printer/copier, staplers, door handles, etc. are sanitized by staff with disinfectant wipes at least once daily, and patrons are welcome to use these wipes as well.
Materials Sanitation
The library has purchased a UV light sanitizer to disinfect books and other material when returned by patrons. Any material too large to fit inside the sanitizer are set aside for 72 hours before being returned to shelves.
