President, IREM Maryland Chapter
As summer winds down and budget season is underway for a lot of our members, don't forget to make IREM education part of your planning. Our chapter is proud to be part of Region 3 Education, which consists of the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia chapters. The Region 3 Education Committee is already beginning to plan its 2018 Education Calendar, and it is sure to have courses and seminars that you will find helpful for your personal and professional development. If your company will not support additional courses, please check out IREM's scholarship opportunities. Our Chapter has several scholarships that are available to help with either dues or courses, and you can find the information
here. Additionally, the IREM Foundation has several scholarships available, and applications are accepted monthly. More information and the application can be found on
IREM's website. We are proud to announce that Je'Mira Spriggs, our newest Student member, was recently awarded an IREM Foundation Diversity Outreach Scholarship. This scholarship provides her the opportunity to take three IREM courses, which she will use to obtain her ARM designation. You can learn more about Je'Mira in this month's Spotlight article.
You should have all received the email ballot with your IREM Maryland 2019 Officers and Executive Council. Please take a moment to respond, and then make plans to attend the Annual Meeting and Boat Cruise on September 13. I look forward to seeing you all there!
