Health & Wellness: Breathe with Me!
At Skip-a-Long, we implement the Conscious Discipline model, a social-emotional learning model that is built on safety, connection and problem-solving. It is based on teaching with love responses instead of teaching with fear responses.

Before we can address our child's self-regulation difficulties, we must first be aware of our own emotional state. There are many times that we can feel overwhelmed or powerless when dealing with behavior issues. We would like to share with you some tips regarding self-regulation for you as a parent as well as for your child.

Our Mental Health Therapist put together some strategies that you can use to maintain composure. The first step is to BREATHE! Second are examples of how you can support self-regulation by using validation, problem solving, and choices when interacting with your children.
