Dear Allegro Community,
September 8th, Allegro students' first day, is just around the corner and we want to make sure all of our families have signed up for a LEAP Day appointment time. You can use this link to sign-up for a day and time that works for you. Please note that these are currently the only times available for item pick-up.

Since Allegro will be starting virtually, I wanted to include information in this email regarding how school days will operate. This will not be like the more relaxed schedule that was followed during 2019-2020 school year. Students will be required to attend their classes "live" according to their schedule. Attending live classes, along with completion of assignments and student engagement is how attendance will be taken for virtual learning. Failure to attend live classes and complete assignments will result in the student being marked absent for a class. See below for the 2020-2021 School Year Bell Schedule.

LEAP Week Information
LEAP Week will occur August 31st-September 3rd from 8:30AM-3:30PM. During these days, we ask that families sign up for a specific time to come into the school, pick up school items (devices, schedules, instruments and other class items), and meet teachers.

If you haven't already, please sign up for a time to come in to our new space here. We ask that once you sign-up, you only come on the date and time that is reserved for you. This is to maintain building occupancy and social distancing requirements and to keep everyone safe. If you have multiple children, it is fine to sign-up for one time only. Only the student and parent/guardians should attend this meeting as the amount of individuals in the building is strictly limited.

We will not be scheduling times outside of these identified hours and days, so please be sure to sign-up in order for students to procure necessary materials and be prepared for the September 8th start of school

We will not be offering a full building tour at this time due to building occupancy guidelines. Instead, we will be releasing a virtual tour in the coming weeks.
Required Student Paperwork
Each year there are a few forms that we require each and every student to turn in. We have provided a link here if you would like to print them off and complete at home. Or, you can complete during your LEAP appointment. These forms include:

  • Emergency Health Card
  • Media Release
  • Technology Policy & Acknowledgement
Technology Fees, Policies, and Procedures
Allegro does not have a student activity fee; however, we do require families to pay the tech insurance fee on each student's device. This fee covers accidental damage and theft. However, it does not cover intentional damage or the loss of the device. Due to COVID-19, Allegro will only be accepting online payments made through our portal. You can make your payment by using this link by September 8, 2020.

Students will be given an Acceptable Use of Technology form during LEAP Week to review. As a convenience, here is a link for you to review immediately. Please ensure you review this with your student, sign off on the form, and return it during your allotted time. Students will be given their device once the form is signed submitted and payment for the insurance is received. Allegro Charter School of Music is a 1:1 school, and the use of technology is considered the equivalent of a textbook at a non 1:1 school. It is the student's responsibility to ensure its well-being.
Nutrition Services
If you haven't already, you should be receiving a form from CCSD food/nutrition services regarding school meal pick-up. Here at our new campus (the former Gordon Garrett Academy of Technology, 2731 Gordon St., North Charleston, SC 29405), Allegro will be a dedicated meal delivery site and will be providing curb side "grab-and-go" meals. This also means that if you have multiple students at other CCSD schools, you can choose Allegro as your primary meal pick-up site if this is more convenient for you. More information can be found on the CCSD website.
