Faith Formation and Youth Ministry
Summer is coming to an end! Students and families are beginning to prepare for the new school year. We are also preparing for the new program year for Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Programs. We are opening Registration for both program now and will begin these programs September 19th. To learn more and register click the buttons below.
Registration for Faith Formation is now open. This year will look different from the past. We are not ready to go back to the class room setting but will have a hybrid program of at home teaching, family events and grade level events. We will be using Pflaum Gospel weeklies again this year.
Registration for Youth Ministry is now open. We will be revamping our program this year and exploring what the new normal will look like. I am planning on having in person events and meetings along with virtual opportunities and find what works best to serve the youth of our community.
In order to have successful Faith Formation and Youth Ministry Programs we need volunteers. These adults can serve an a variety of ways: catechists, chaperones, assistants, chaperones, set up/clean up and more. If you interested in serving the youth of our parish please click the button and complete the survey. Adults of all ages are welcome. If you have any questions please contact Cassie Denning.

Mini Mission Trip
This past July we partnered with youth from St Andrews for a Mini Mission trip. Day one we were at St Andrew to put together blessing bags for the homeless. We were able to put together 61 blessing bags. The next day we were at Bosco and worked in both the Meditation Park and Food Garden. We were able to get a lot of work done. We spread additional gravel in the mediation park along with some bark to beautify and help combat weeds. In the Food garden we helped by completing a project that will help keep weeds down around some of the beds. We also helped with some harvesting, weeding and other clean up. Sunday we joined then at St Andrews with the Agape Service Project team to prep good for the Agape Food Bank.

Youth Migrant Project
In previous years, we served the Youth Migrant Project in the Skagit valley on our Summer Mission Trip. We have not been able to attend in person but would love to be able to continue our support to this community. We are collecting financial contributions to allow the Tri-Parish Food bank to purchase in bulk, warm blankets, personal hygiene items, and other basic needs as they arise. We ask that you please consider making a donation to support farmworkers and their families.

To donate you may write a check to:
Youth Migrant Project and mail to:
935 Peterson Road, Burlington WA 98233
Or write a check to St John Bosco with the memo: YMP and turn into the office.

Do you have high blood pressure?
Consider partnering with the parish nurses at St. John Bosco in the Healthy Hearts Self-Monitored Blood Pressure program. You will receive support with understanding the BP readings you will take yourself, heart health education and coaching. Participants will be asked to learn to accurately check your blood pressure and document the readings, check in with your parish nurse every two weeks and report the readings, receive monthly education and follow-up with your health care provider.
If interested contact Parish nurse, Suzette Reyes at suzettereyes11@gmail.com.
Supported by Congregational Health Ministries at Virginia Mason Franciscan Health and WA Dept of Health.
Annual Catholic Appeal
Thank you to all who have already participated in the Annual Catholic Appeal. We are close to meeting our goal with only about $11, 000 to go - 31 pledges in the an amount of $365.00 ($1.00 a day) would enable us to meet our ACA goal. If you have yet to make your pledge, there is still time to do so. All pledges and prayers are welcome.
Have a story about our Church you would like to Share? Or some pictures?

Please send them to Cassie so we can share them with our community!
