What's New

Katthoefer Building Now Open

After closing more than 4 years ago, the historic Katthoefer Animal Building reopened on July 31st during our special Member's Night celebration. Over 580 excited zoo members were able to see some of their favorite animals as well as some new ones, such as the Chinchillas and Ball Python. Make sure to check it out during your next visit to the zoo! The building is open from 10-4 each day.

Upcoming AZA Conference

We will be attending the Association of Zoos & Aquariums(AZA) Conference September 14-19th in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. The conference is the largest, most comprehensive zoo and aquarium professionals’ event in the country. The event gives us the opportunity to connect with other professionals, attend seminars on the best practices in animal care and conservation and to experience the latest technology relevant to the industry. This year is especially important for our team as we attend a hearing to review our status as an AZA accredited facility. Miller Park Zoo has remained an accredited zoo since 1978 through our dedication to animal welfare, conservation and education.
