"A New Beginning in Christ"
There is something special about the beginning of a school year. New classrooms. New routines. New faces. New opportunities. There is excitement, anticipation, and, perhaps, even a little nervousness. This August is especially significant as Christ the King Lutheran High School welcomes its founding class and begins a new chapter of ministry.
Whenever God leads His people into something new, He first reminds them of something unchanging: His faithfulness. As Israel stood on the edge of the Promised Land, the Lord said to Joshua, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go" (Joshua 1:9). Joshua's confidence did not come from knowing what lay ahead, but from the Lord's promise to be with him.
That same promise is ours today. As students fill our classrooms, teachers begin their work, and families settle into a new school year, we do so with confidence—not because we know what this year will bring, but because Christ goes before us.
Our prayer is that Christ the King Lutheran High School would always be a place where students grow not only in knowledge, but also in the grace and truth of Jesus Christ. As we begin this historic first school year, we give thanks that Christ Himself is the foundation of this ministry and the One who will faithfully guide us in the years to come.

Join Us for the First Day of School Celebration!
Monday, August 24, 2026 | 8:30–10:30 a.m.
After years of prayer, planning, and faithful support, the doors of Christ the King Lutheran High School will officially open for our first day of classes! We invite our founding families, future families, board members, supporters, and members of our circuit congregations to join us as we celebrate this historic milestone.
The celebration will begin at 8:30 AM with a special chapel service, followed by a brief address from Principal Eckman, Founding Class photos, campus tours, refreshments and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall, an opportunity to write notes of encouragement for our Founding Class, and CTK apparel available for purchase. Guests are invited to stay through the celebration and will be dismissed at 10:30 a.m., while our students continue their historic first day of school together.

| | CTK Purchases Future Land in New Haven! | |
We are excited to share another exciting milestone in the life of Christ the King Lutheran High School! By God's grace, CTK has officially purchased property near Highway 100 in New Haven that will one day become the permanent home of our school.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of two donors and the opportunity to purchase this 44.8 acres of land at a favorable price, this property has been purchased debt-free. This allows us to focus our efforts on preparing the site, designing our future school building, and moving one step closer to construction.
As we continue planning for the future, our founding school year will begin this fall at our temporary campus located at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Port Hudson. We are thankful for the many ways God continues to provide for this ministry and invite you to keep Christ the King, our students, and our future campus in your prayers as we look ahead with excitement and confidence in His guidance.

Our three-week Summer Camp has officially come to a close, and what a blessing it has been! Campers from Immanuel Washington, Immanuel Rosebud, and Trinity New Haven filled the CTK campus with laughter, learning, and fun.
Throughout the three weeks, campers enjoyed fishing, harvesting vegetables from our future Farm-to-Table garden, archery, birdhouse building, sewing, foraging, and much more. One of the biggest highlights came during our final week when our chicks finally hatched! The students had a blast naming them—including one memorable chick named "Dinner," which brought plenty of laughs.
We are so thankful for all of our campers, families, volunteers, and staff who made this summer such a success. It has been a joy to watch these future Lions learn new skills, build friendships, and enjoy God's creation together. We look forward to welcoming many of them to Christ the King in the years ahead!

Mike graciously donates 100% of the proceeds to support the ministry of Christ the King Lutheran High School and Immanuel Lutheran School. What a wonderful evening we had at our Meet the Teachers Night! It was a joy to meet, greet, laugh together, and talk about the exciting year ahead. As we prepare for Christ the King's inaugural school year, we continue to be amazed by the wonderful founding families God has brought together. There is something truly special about being in a room filled with families who are so excited and committed to building this ministry from the very beginning.
We currently have six students enrolled, with two additional students who have recently toured the school. We thank God for the strong foundation He is laying and ask for your continued prayers as we prepare for this historic first year. We are truly blessed by the incredible students, families, and supporters who are making Christ the King Lutheran High School a reality.

We are thankful for the generous donations of additional shop equipment, smart boards, and beautiful classroom furniture, including high-quality student desks that will bless our learning environment for years to come. We also now have lumber for our shop program harvested from the 44.8 acres of land God has provided for our future campus in New Haven—a meaningful reminder that our future home is already helping shape our students' education today.
