We are excited to host Scramble for Scholars, our second annual golf tournament for the New River Gorge Leanring Co-op! The evolution for our organization has reached an incredibly fast pace during the past few months.
Our ongoing partnerships with WVU and The One Foundation have helped guide our efforts to continue to grow and serve Fayette County. 2018 marks the opening of our middle school program for ages 12-15. With the addition of this program we are creating more classroom space by bringing in another modular building.
All of this is a long way of saying we need your help!
100% of proceeds from this tournament will go directly to funding educational opportunities for kids in our community.

Pickleball at the Memorial Building August 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30 @ 8:30 am - 10:30 am
Pickleball is suitable for all age groups. Seniors can play against and with teenagers while women can readily compete with men players. The ball travels at about 1/3 the speed of a tennis ball and thus the court is about 1/3 the size of a tennis court. Finesse and accuracy are more important than power and speed although reaction time can be precious in some aspects of play.
Ex-tennis and ex-racquetball players easily adjust to the Pickleball game as well as ping pong and badminton players. In fact, the game is played on the same size court as doubles badminton. Pickleball can be played indoors or out.
While the game is easy to learn and play, there can be large differences in skill. In the more advanced Pickleball, there are tournaments and player ratings much like tennis. There are even pro players and national level tournaments for the more advanced and competitive players.
Please wear athletic or loose fitting clothing and clean tennis shoes. Indicating you are "going" in this event page will help us prepare enough equipment.
