Welcome Kindergarten Families

We are SO glad you're here!

Balanced Beginnings

Douglas County School District implements a special transition process for our Kindergarten students called Balanced Beginnings. The first days of school will be staggered, with smaller groups of students coming in rather than the entire class.

Parents will have the ability to sign up for their Kindergartner on one of the following days: Wednesday, August 12th, or Thursday, August 13th. These online sign-ups will be available once class assignments are released on Friday, July 31st, after 10 am.

Look for the links in the community update. The first full day of Kindergarten for all students will be Friday, August 14th.

Friday Late Start Begins August 21st!

Lone Tree Elementary start time is 8:45 am - 9:05 am

Beginning this school year, all DCSD elementary and middle schools will have a 45-minute delayed start every Friday to provide teachers with dedicated Professional Learning Community (PLC) time. This collaborative planning time allows educators to work together, analyze student data, and strengthen instruction to better support student success.

The first late-start Friday is August 21. Bus routes will run 45 minutes later, BASE and school breakfast will still be available, and preschool schedules will remain unchanged. Please plan accordingly as we kick off this new schedule!

Celebrate with us!

Rent Lone Tree Elementary's Marquee!

Your kid's birthday is on the same day every year... shocking, we know :)

Save yourself a future headache and reserve the marquee NOW!

For $25/day, you can have a slide on our marquee. PLUS, all of the proceeds come back to our amazing school for future community events, school upgrades or staff appreciation. There's no better time to celebrate!

And now... the small print...

  • The marquee may be simultaneously rented by more than one party.
  • The marquee may also be utilized for communication of other school related matters. In the case of non-urgent communications, your message will scroll with other messages.
  • In the case of school-related urgent messages, your message may be temporarily disabled (e.g., red flag dismissal). If an urgent message disables your message, the marquee will return to your message as soon as possible.

FUNDRAISING

'

We're excited to kick off another amazing school year -- and we need your help to make it a success! This year, the PTO has set a fundraising goal of almost $130,000 (approximately $360/student) to support classroom resources, enrichment programs, family events and more.

Every donation, big or small, makes a difference in our students' experience. Whether you contribute directly, participate in upcoming fundraisers or help spread the word, you're part of our community effort.

As always, we try to be transparent with our fundraising. Follow along throughout the year by using our Fundraiser Tracker.
