Parent Contact Update
-August 2017-
Each month, Parent Contacts receive these updates through their preferred method of contact. Please feel free to share the information in them with your service coordinator and other families you may know receiving services!
Did you know...

the EIPLP sends a survey to all of it's Parent Contacts twice a year? Our latest one was sent out in the last week of July. Your answers help us get a better idea of what you'd like to hear about and how you'd like to access information. If you haven't completed it yet, please do so. You can also access it here. If you need a paper copy, call Liz at 413-586-7525 x 5863116, and we will mail it out!

Did you know...

there is a difference between an IEP and a 504 plan? If you have a child who will be aging out of EI and referred to a public preschool, you will likely hear both of those terms. The Federation for Children with Special Needs has a great overview of the two on their website, explaining the difference. Check it out here !

Did you know...

that families receiving EI services have rights and safeguards in place to protect your child's and family's interests? The Notice of Family Rights and Procedural Safeguards outline them, and you can find it on the EIPLP website under the Family Rights tab. If you have questions about your rights in EI, please talk to your service coordinator, program Director, on contact Mary Dennehy-Colorusso, from the Office of Family Rights and Due Process at 978-851-7261 x1994016 or mary.dennehy-colorusso@state.ma.us

The ISFP Process is the ongoing development, implementation, assessment, and review to determine the effectiveness of the IFSP in addressing child and family outcomes.

We love that you are here!

Parent Contacts are an important part of the Massachusetts Early Intervention System. Parent Contacts are parents and guardians of children currently receiving EI services who volunteer to receive information from the EIPLP and share it with other families. If your child is no longer receiving services, or you no longer wish to be the Parent Contact for your EI program, please let us know by calling
1-877-353-4757 or emailing eiplp@live.com so that we can identify another family from your program.
