Please note that The Flint Public Library is maintained by a small staff and group of volunteers, and our services are offered to communities that include vulnerable populations that may be unvaccinated or immunocompromised. Flint Public Library’s highest priority is the health and well-being of library users, staff, and volunteers as we continue to take precautionary measures in order to keep our community safe.

Summer Reading Challenges
Children's Summer Reading Challenge

Topsfield Fair "Read and Win" Deadline: Friday, August 13 @ 12PM/noon
FPL "Tails and Tales" Program Deadline: Friday, August 20

Roar! Chirp! Meow! Woof!
Flint Public Library's 2021 Children's Summer Reading Challenge: "Tails and Tales" will be coming to an end soon, but there is still time to log your hours and earn your chance at prizes in our weekly raffles! Prizes include "Tails and Tales" coloring posters as well as gift certificates to Middleton's Used Book Superstore and Art's Cool.

Readers ages 8 and older that log 20 hours of completed reading either online or in-person by Friday, August 13th at 12PM/noon are eligible for a Topsfield Fair “Read and Win” prize-pack. “Read and Win” prize-packs include a free ticket to the Topsfield Fair, a voucher for one free hot dog and drink at the fair, two ride tickets, a “Read and Win” ribbon, and a “Read and Win” certificate. Please note: Readers under age 8 receive free entry to the fair and are ineligible for this prize.

DON’T FORGET! The Topsfield Fair “Read and Win” deadline is Friday, August 13th at 12PM/noon. Flint Public Library’s “Tails and Tales” Children’s Summer Reading Program deadline is Friday, August 20th.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge

Calling all teen readers! We are excited to share Flint Public Library's 2021 Teen Summer Reading Challenge: Tails and Tales!

This hybrid in-person/online program will run from June 21st to August 13th with several opportunities to be entered into our summer reading prize raffles. Prizes will include free books and candy, a Worlds of Wonder coloring package, and gift cards to Richardson's Ice Cream and Sol Bean.

Adult Summer Reading Challenge

Registration begins: Monday, June 21
Program ends: Friday, August 13

The Flint Public Library's 2021 Adult Summer Reading Challenge is a great way to diversify your reading and get out of your comfort zone!

This program will run from June 21st to August 13th, concluding with our summer reading raffle where we'll be giving away three incredible prizes (including gift cards to Maggie's Farm, Richardson's Ice Cream, and Winfrey's Fudge & Chocolates).

This STEM Take-and-Make Kit includes everything you need to make your very own jiggly jellyfish craft, along with a jellyfish anatomy coloring page, some jellyfish fun facts, and related reading recommendations.

Drop by to log any last-minute reading and celebrate the end of our "Tails and Tales" summer program! Readers are welcome to dress up as their favorite animal or show off their favorite animal with an animal-themed outfit and enjoy dancing to music with DJ Hermanium. This event will be held outdoors with a rain date in the case of inclement weather.

Hear how foam came to be in the ocean and sing songs to raise the anchor and set sail to the past and the present. This program will be held outside on the library lawn.
