Tomorrow is the Big Day!
The 28th Annual "Be A Star, Save A Life" telethon will be broadcasting live from the HSEP shelter to bring you adoptable pets, heartwarming adoption follow-ups, behind-the-scenes interviews, donation raffles, and a special comedy roast of Cats vs. Dogs.

In honor of celebrating 75 years of saving lives, this year's telethon will take a look back at the history of the shelter and the memories that were made.

The telethon is the Humane Society's largest fundraiser of the year. Your donations, no matter the size, help us continue our efforts of providing life saving programs while also creating a better community for future homeless pets in need.

Don't miss out on all the fun that is soon to come.

Roof Construction Update:
We got off to a late start with all the rain, but thanks to the persistence of Jessie Rojas and his crew from Roofer’s Solutions, the roof on the medium dog kennel is now done, and our medium shelter dogs have moved back in.

Next on the list are the Foster Care building and the Meow House. We do not want raindrops to keep falling on everyone’s heads. Paws-Up for everyone’s support!! We wuf you!
Day of Action
The fantastic volunteers from Frontera Fellows and the El Paso Junior Probation Department spent the last Saturday morning of July at the shelter to help us clean and get our grounds camera ready for our 28th Annual "Be A Star, Save A Life" telethon.

From washing windows, picking up trash, painting, and cutting grass, this group's hard work helped us make our facility look brand new in just a few hours.

We'd like to give a big thank you to all the volunteers that came out!
Critters 'N' Kids Summer Camp 2021
Session 2: Ages 9-12
The Critter's 'N Kids Summer Camp has wrapped up another summer of fun.

It was terrific to have campers back at the shelter to interact with our residents. This year the kids learned about native pet-friendly plants, and how to be animal advocates for not only cats and dogs but for turkeys and goats as well!

We hope to see more smiling faces at next summer's Critter's 'N Kids Animal ED-venture!
Rocking at Wet N Wild
Our community has always had a generous heart; we are always grateful to form new partnerships and meet animal advocates within our community.

In June, Ms. Terri Marquez from the El Paso Sherrif's department reached out to the Humane Society with an invitation to join their annual company picnic at Wet 'N Wild. She informed our Community Relations Coordinator, Lupe Diaz, that one of the bands performing at the event had offered to match their pay and donate it to the shelter.

It was Fabian Astorga from FAB 4 CEZZ who got the ball rolling when his band decided to make this fantastic donation. Once the Sheriff's Association heard of this they jumped in to match their contribution. Then as the word traveled and reached Wet 'N Wild, they also decided to match the band's donation.

The pay-it-forward generosity of FAB 4 CEZZ, the Sheriff's Association, Wet N Wild, and other community members led to a total donation of $2,100!

We are honored to have amazing supporters that are so passionate about our mission and making sure our city becomes a more humane place for all animals.
