Board takes up rising water rates, Raimundo parking, noisy leaf-blowers, rodents
|
Recent discussions at SCRL board meetings have included the university’s increase in water rates for leaseholders, the ongoing conflicts about parking on the Peter Coutts end of Raimundo, and the problem of noise from leaf blowers, especially for faculty teaching from home. The board also surveyed members to set priorities for the board’s agenda for the coming year, established a rodent task force, continued to fine-tune a new approach to emergency preparedness, and reelected the current board leadership for another two-year term.

Staying connected
If you are reading this newsletter, you’re probably on the SCRL e-mail list. But is there another adult member of your household who isn’t getting communications from SCRL? Or is there another email you’d rather have us use?
If you want to add another address to our list, please send an email to Cindi Kingsley or call (650) 725-8963. And if you know a neighbor who isn’t getting all the communications from SCRL, urge them to email or call.
Help Wanted?
Want to learn to skateboard? Play the violin? How about Mandarin, Italian, French, Spanish, or Hebrew? Need an SAT tutor or lifeguard? A babysitter, dogwalker, or plant waterer? You can find all this talent and more on the 2020 SCRL list of neighborhood teenagers and college students who are eager to work. Audrey Gold, creator and curator of this valuable neighborhood resource since 2014, has put together the most comprehensive list yet. Contact Cindi Kingsley if you didn’t get the list emailed earlier this summer.
