Tip #1 | Indicate WHY you are holding the meeting (especially if regular safety meetings are new to your organization)
YOUR WHY: Employee well-being - you want your team safe so they can go home to their families and live fruitful lives. Profit is NOT more important than the the lives of your people.
NOT YOUR WHY: Do no communicate the following reasons (these are side benefits to implementing a culture of safety but vocalizing them won’t improve employee morale):
- to reduce Work Comp costs
- to reduce lost time/re-hiring costs associated with injuries
- Someone (OSHA, customer, etc.) is making you do it
