We are excited to be welcoming our new Sodexo Executive Chef Rebecca Skroback to WAWM! Chef Rebecca is a resident of West Allis and received her associates degree in culinary arts from MATC.

Her past endeavors include: Catering Director for a major Milwaukee based company, Garde Manger Chef at a private country club in Milwaukee County, and most recently, the Lead Chef at a K-12 private school.

Chef Rebecca is excited to start her new journey with Sodexo and to serve the community she lives in and we are excited to have her!

Over the past year, there has been no charge for breakfast and lunch for students due to a federal program as a response to COVID-19. This federal program expired at the end of the 2021-2022 school year.

That said, our district has made it a priority to continue offering this service to all of our families because we know how beneficial this has been in supporting our students and families. We are now able to offer free breakfast and lunch for all students across our district for the 2022-2023 school year.

It's not too late to host this fall!

Meet Louisa

Louisa is an amazing AFS Exchange Student from Belgium, eager to come join your American life! Please open your hearts and your home to Louisa for this coming school year.  She only needs a bed, and will cover her own expenses, and just wants to be a part of your family.  You don't need a student her age.

Look at her information here and please contact Jeanne Engenlkemeir (847) 971-8480 or April Shern, AFS Regional Field Specialist, 646-381-3332 Office, 929-746-9008. Click here for more information about hosting.

WAWM RCS Action Programs and Non School Day Camps

Do you need care outside of school hours? If so, you are in luck! AM Action, Action 330, and Non School Day Camps are available now for the 2022-23 school year. These programs help children to learn and grow daily through structured play and activities in a fun, inclusive, caring and safe environment.

AM Action (7:00-8:30am) focuses heavily on getting students moving in the morning. It is crucial for students to ready their minds and bodies for school each day. AM Action students will have access to breakfast each morning.

Action 330 (3:30-5:30pm) aims to introduce students to various games, crafts, activities, projects, etc. Students are placed into groups by age/grade and alternate through a series of rotations each afternoon with their group. All Action 330 students receive a snack each afternoon.

Non School Day Camps (7:00am-5:30pm) run ONLY on days when school is not in session. These camps provide students with a structured day full of fun and adventure. All activities, games, and crafts are centered around a different theme daily. View a list of these camps and more information, please visit wawmrec.com/youth/non-school-day-camp.

For more information or to register, please visit wawmrec.com or call 414-604-4900.

Register by Thursday, August 25th in order to have your child start on the first day of school.
