Meet the GunPowder Valley Conservancy | |
In 1989, the Gunpowder Valley Conservancy (GVC) began as a grassroots effort to protect the historical and natural resources of the “green triangle” of land between the Big and Little Gunpowder Falls in Kingsville. GVC is now a Baltimore County-based land trust and restoration nonprofit organization. Over the past 34 years, we have preserved 2,000+ acres in conservation easements, planted 36,000+ trees and removed 270+ tons of trash. Our vision is a Gunpowder Watershed with healthy lands, healthy waterways, and healthy communities.
This fall we will be offering a variety of environmental stewardship volunteer opportunities, including tree plantings, stream clean-ups, and conservation garden workshops. Visit our online calendar of events for more details: https://www.gunpowdervalleyconservancy.org/events/
Questions? Feel free to reach out to Amy Young, GVC Communications Manager, at ayoung@gunpowdervc.org if you would like to learn more about GVC.

The Baltimore County Heritage Network was formed in 2022, supported by a grant from the Maryland Center for History and Culture’s Miller History Fund. This collaboration of small history organizations around Baltimore County allows us to share our combined strengths. We hope to increase the sustainability and public awareness of our member organizations. More than that we hope to spread our love of our local history and its amazing stories to more people in our region.
