Camp Katina

Our honey bugs visited Camp Katina, which is an annual 2-day gymnastics and life skills camp. Now in its 17th year, Camp Katina is a motivational and inspiring gymnastic camp, that teaches our girls lessons on being their best, self-esteem boosters and positive thinking. This wonderful camp also includes a dance performance and an awards ceremony.

Our Honey Bugs recently enjoyed a rewarding and enriching experience at Painting with a Twist! During this creative outing, the girls had the opportunity to express themselves artistically by creating a stunning canvas featuring an empowering woman. This activity not only allowed them to showcase their artistic talents but also served as a powerful reminder of the strength and resilience of women.

Honey Shine's Honey Bugs Explore Their Inner Vet!

Our Honey Bugs recently embarked on an enriching field trip to Fort Lauderdale, where they had the opportunity to delve into the world of veterinary medicine, and become a vet for a day. This experience allowed them to explore their interests in animal care and learn about the vital role veterinarians play in ensuring the health and well-being of our furry friends.

Overtown Young Professionals (OYP) is a group of young professionals between the ages of 21 and 39. OYP exists to empower future leaders of our community to engage, connect and support the mission of the Overtown Youth Center. OYP members will serve as ambassadors to raise awareness about the transformational programs that provide youth and families the support necessary to bridge educational, social, emotional, and opportunity gaps that exist in urban communities.
