Dear Highland Shores Residents,
Summer is coming to a close, including pool season at Highland Shores. Read on for important community updates.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR ALL HOMEOWNERS:
BOARD OF DIRECTOR NOMINATIONS ARE OPEN!
Highland Shores Owners Association’s is currently seeking qualified individuals with a desire to take a leadership role within the Association. There is one Board of Director Position open for 2023. Serving as a director can be a very rewarding experience. Should you wish to become a nominee for the Board of Directors, please fill out and return this form by October 3, 2022. Forms can be e-mailed to [email protected]. Homeowner's will vote by proxy mailed in and/or in person at the annual meeting on November 17, 2022 which is held at the community center in Highland Shores. Sign in for annual meeting is 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting promptly at 7:00 p.m.

Pool Closing Information:
Pool 1 closed on August 27, 2022. Pool 3 closes on Monday, September 6. Pool 2 closes on September 30. A full schedule can be found on our website.

Pool 2 Hours September 6 – September 30:
Lap Swim – Monday – Friday: 6:00 AM – 8:30 AM (No Lap Swim September 6)
Monday – Thursday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Friday: 12:00 PM – 9:00 PM
Saturday: 11:00 AM – 9:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Labor Day Holiday:

Office will be closed all day on Monday, September 5th for Labor Day Holiday and will resume to normal office hours Tuesday, September 6th.

If you plan to make any outdoor improvements, please remember to submit your application. The Modification and New Construction Committees will meet September 2, September 16 and September 30. Submittals are due the Wednesday prior by 3:00 PM. If you have specific guideline questions, please contact John Evans.

Community Garage Sale
Saturday, September 10th

Whether you're planning your own sale or getting ready to find some great bargains, please join us for the Community-Wide Garage Sales this fall. Homeowners set their own hours for their individual garage sales. We provide advertising and banners at the entrances of the community. Please do not put out any directional or garage sale sign on Friday, September 10 or 17th.
Grab & Go
Friday, September 23rd
Stop by the Community Center to get yourself a bagel or donut with a coffee! You can either sit and relax or grab it and go.
Time: 7am - 9:am or until they run out

This spooky season we wanted to help out the Children's Advocacy Center. What is Children's Advocacy Center? CAC is the front-line responders to reports of child sexual abuse in the Denton County. They provide education, healing, and justice to children, families and the community.
In October there will be a Costume Halloween Party. If you plan to come, the entrée "fee" is to donate a new fleece blanket, toy or board game. These items will be given to those children in December. If you want drop it off before the party, feel free to do so. You may bring one of these items or all three if you choose to.
Even if you are unable to attend the event you can still make the donation.

Just drop off at the on-site office in Highland Shores. Have your name on it somewhere. If you do not know where the office is located you can call (972) 317-5139 for directions.
Volunteer
If anyone would like to be a volunteer for events please fill this form out so that I may be able to ask if you are free that event day to help! Thank you.

Pathfinders Fun Cycling

Join Pathfinders Fun Cycling on one of their many rides through North Texas trails and paths. Most rides start from Highland Shores and have a lunch stop.

Women's Tennis League

Our women’s tennis league begins Monday, September 12th. This is a social, flex league meaning you sign up to play every Friday for the following Monday. This is a great way to enjoy social tennis and meet your neighbors. We play for 10 weeks, ending with a luncheon and prizes awarded to the top 2 players.  For more information contact me.

Fall Tennis Academy

Bad Dawg Tennis Tennis Academy offers junior (ages 5-13) classes and adult classes at Tennis Courts 5-8.

Junior Classes: Mondays, 6:00 - 7:00 PM, Session 1: September 12 - October 10
Session 2: October 17 - November 14

Adult Classes: Mondays, 7:00 - 8:00 PM, Session 1: September 12 - October 10
Session 2: October 17 - November 14

CITY OF HIGHLAND VILLAGE NEWS
TxDOT to Begin Construction on Highland Village Rd. On Ramp to Northbound I-35E
TxDOT is set to begin the construction of the Highland Village Road northbound on ramp to I-35E. The official start date is September 14 and the contract calls for a 71 day construction timeframe, Monday - Friday. Interruption to traffic should be minimal during construction. We will provide updates as we receive them.

Paper Shredding Day
  • September 24 at 2:00pm -5:00pm

Lambeau's and the 8Tracks

THE 8TRACKS appear at Lambeau's America for the first time on Friday, September 2nd at 8:30PM in Highland Village, TX. Texas’ preeminent classic rock band will kick off Lambeau's Fall Music Series with their amazing tribute to the ICONS OF ROCK ► DO YA WANNA GET ROCKED?! 
The 8tracks' transcendent rock songs, crushingly authentic instrumentals, stunning vocals, and an unmatched catalog are sure to impress the most discriminating 70s rock fan. The band has appeared throughout Texas and performed rink side for more than 85,000 fans as the Official House Band for the NHL's Bridgestone Winter Classic at the Cotton Bowl.
Concerts will take place at Doubletree Ranch Park and begin at 7:00 p.m.
